It really is an absolute delight to include this charming, romantic retreat in our Kefalonia portfolio. Built to a notably high standard and imaginatively designed both inside and out, every aspect of this well-appointed, enviably located hideaway encourages effortless relaxation. A wonderful choice for anyone seeking to rest, refresh and ‘recharge’ (honeymooners, in particular, should look no further!) summer escapes to the sunshine do not come more appealing than at Marina.
There is an impressive amount of space to enjoy; starting outside, surrounded by lawn and shady mature trees, not one but two, private pools vie for attention.
Artistically landscaped around an ancient olive tree, the principal pool has wide Roman steps across the width of one end with a curtained gazebo shading a comfortable seating/dining terrace at the other.
Long, shallow and instantly eye-catching, pool number two has a pair of solid, low-level sunbeds built into one side and extending directly into the water. Quirky... and, of course, cooling!
Other external highlights include sea views from the terraces across to neighbouring Zante (Zakynthos) and two centenary eucalyptus trees.
Equally welcoming, the air-conditioned, open-plan interior is furnished with care and decorated in soft, soothing pastel shades. Attractive, slate-grey coloured flooring, substantive roof beams, and an expansive mezzanine/bedroom with free-standing bathtub keep things easy on the eye and further evidence the owner’s deft, creative touch.
Just 2km away, the sleepy village of Spartia is home to a couple of local tavernas and a minimarket for everyday essentials. A simple taverna also sits alongside South-facing Spartia Beach (2.5km) which is backed by limestone cliffs and fringed by good walking country – particularly towards the ruins of St George Castle. With good shopping, daily markets of seafood, meat and fresh local produce plus a choice of waterside restaurants, the interesting island capital, Argostoli, is only 12km.

Sports & Activities
Horse Riding - There is an excellent established riding school located in the village of Zervata, 4km south of Sami. A truly wonderful experience, their experienced team offer everything from 1-5 hours trips, to camping overnight with barbecue and campfire.
Melissani Lake - The aquamarine waters are simply stunning, the colours and eerie atmosphere is something you will never forget.
St George's Castle - The historic capital of Kefalonia is a great place to wander and explore. There are many alleyways, along with a wonderful old church and monastery with ancient icons on display.

Kefalonia is an island of dramatic mountains, thickly forested hillsides, pale golden beaches and a cobalt coloured sea. Covered by pine forest and carpeted with wild sage, oregano, thyme and rosemary, the entire island is surrounded by fantastic shorelines that sweep down from secret coves with white pebbles in the north to golden sands in the south. Sloping down to a coastline indented by beaches and quiet inlets, Spartia is a sleepy village located a few miles south of the capital, Argostoli. Pretty houses perch on the flowery hillsides, looking out over lush vegetation and the glistening Ionian Sea. This traditional fishing village offers bountiful natural beauty and the centre of the village is home to a small square with a few tavernas and a well-stocked minimarket. lt has a lovely sandy cove beach where you will find clear, shallow waters backed by limestone cliffs and a friendly local taverna. Spartia is well placed for a choice of activities and places to explore, all within easy reach, along with plenty of inviting beaches to discover.
